Finance of America Cos. Finalizes Acquisition of AAG Finance of America Cos. Inc. said its acquisition of American Advisors Group (AAG) was completed on March 31. It promoted Graham A. Fleming to CEO and Kristen N. Sieffert to president. Fleming, a 25-year veteran in the mortgage industry, joined Finance of America in 2013 and served as president from late 2020 until he was named interim CEO in 2022. Sieffert became president of Finance of America Reverse in 2015 and is credited with ushering in the company’s suite of proprietary products that have filled gaps in the marketplace to meet borrowers’ demands. Guild Mortgage Acquires Cherry Creek Mortgage Guild Mortgage, San Diego, CA, a publicly traded mortgage lender and servicer founded in 1960, acquired Cherry Creek Mortgage LLC, Greenwood Village, CO. “We continue to look for potential new partners with strong local teams, a history of growth and community commitments,” said Guild CEO Mary Ann McGarry in a news release. “Cherry Creek has grown steadily over the years and shown a dedication to giving back that parallels ours, with an executive team and loan officers who are active in every market.” In its release announcing the acquisition, Guild noted that Cherry Creek also “brings its experience assisting customers with reverse mortgages, providing an opportunity to expand Guild’s range of services with new expertise for this important group of customers.” Robinson Joins NAF as VP of Reverse Mortgages Shannon Robinson joined New American Funding (NAF) as vice president of the reverse mortgage division. Prior to joining NAF, Robinson was vice president of strategic sales and execution at American Advisors Group, where she managed multimillion-dollar lead investments and collaborated with senior leadership on annual production planning and lead strategy. NAF also announced that it is strengthening its leadership structure by elevating Patty Arvielo to co-CEO and promoting Chief Operating Officer Christy Bunce to president. Arvielo founded NAF two decades ago with her husband, Rick, who also serves as CEO. Milano Joins McGlinchey Stafford Law Firm Jim Milano joined McGlinchey Stafford’s financial institutions compliance practice group as a member in its Washington, DC, office. Milano brings more than 30 years of experience in consumer financial services regulatory compliance and is recognized as one of the nation’s leading lawyers in reverse mortgage matters. He most recently worked for NRMLA’s outside counsel, Weiner Brodsky Kider PC. “I’ve known, worked with and respected McGlinchey and its lawyers for the entirety of my career,” Milano said in a news release. “It’s great to be here among attorneys and professionals who work hard and support a collaborative culture. I look forward to delivering exceptional service and innovative legal solutions to our clients.” In Memoriam: Don Currie, HighTechLending NRMLA extends its heartfelt condolences to the employees of HighTechLending and to the family of company President and Co-Owner Don Currie, who died suddenly in early March. Currie, a mortgage professional for over 40 years, co-founded HighTechLending with Erika Macias in 2007. He attended California State University of Northridge and was past president and board member of the California Association of Mortgage Professionals–Orange County.
